Travelling to Bratislava Slovakia

When planning a trip to Europe, people often think of the major cities, such as Paris, London or Madrid. Another option for the world traveler, who wishes to have a relaxing vacation with friendly people and still have all of the amenities of the modern world, is Bratislava in Slovakia. This beautiful city located on the banks of the famous Danube River, holds all of the charm of the old world but still offers all of the amenities of the new.

Getting to Bratislava is simple for anyone flying into Europe. There are a couple of airport options and many travelers will welcome the ability to choose which offers the cheaper flight. With convenient transportation available, either airport will be a welcome stop during your vacation.

The first option is to fly directly to the Bratislava Airport. This airport is usually serviced by the smaller airlines and can offer discount flights for many destinations. It is also conveniently located five minutes from the major highway that connects Bratislava to Eastern Slovakia.

The other option is to fly into Vienna, Austria. This international airport offers more commercial flights per day and has a higher number of flights overall. To travel from Vienna to Bratislava, a visitor need only take a short bus ride across the border and arrive in the city. The bus system connects several other cities as well. It travels to Bratislava, Vienna, Prague and Budapest.

When staying in Bratislava, one of the first choices of hotels is the Bratislava Hotel. This hotel is located in the heart of the city and is convenient to both the business side of the city as well as the historical attractions. There are even tours of the various historic sites that can be arranged by the concierge in the hotel lobby. They offer taxi transportation to the many wonders around the city and even have rental car access for the traveler who wishes to see the country side at their own pace.

If you are traveling for pleasure, then you must experience the various clubs in Bratislava. Within walking distance from the hotel, there are several clubs that are open late and offer a variety of entertainment options, from the Radost which offers a relaxing restaurant combined with a mellow musical dance floor, to the Duplex Club, with higher energy dance music and a younger crowd. There is even the Manana Pub, with tropical drinks and a light Latin flavor.
